Explore morgan sights and sounds

When spending time touring the Murray River, the town of Morgan, approximately 160 kilometres from Adelaide, is a must-see destination.

A popular holiday town due to it being happily placed on the bend of the river, Morgan can boast one of the most spectacular riverfronts in the region.

The tranquil river sits between lush, green lawns and magnificent, towering gum trees.

River shacks and campsites are teeming with visitors throughout the year and the river is popular with those hoping to hook a couple of fish and spend some time relaxing in nature.

Water sports enthusiasts also love to visit Morgan and spend some time on the river either drifting peacefully along the currents or taking the boat out for a ski and getting their pulses racing.

Morgan has an interesting past steeped in local history, from its beginnings in 1878 as an important stopover for cattle transporters, to being the biggest river port in South Australia, and the second biggest port, after Port Adelaide.

For more information on the town’s colourful past, make sure to visit the Morgan Landseer Museum during your stay.
